Sonic the Hedgehog Classic, the first game in SEGA's iconic series featuring the spiky hero, was released in 1991 for Mega Drive/Genesis. It quickly became the company's flagship game due to its well-rounded gameplay. The Android adaptation of this classic isn't just a simple emulator run, as the original code has been modified to offer significant upgrades. One major improvement is the panoramic resolution, which doesn't distort the image or aspect ratio. Additionally, players have the option to unlock Tails and Knuckles in the first installment, a feature usually only found in hacked versions. In terms of gameplay, the Android version closely resembles the original. Players must journey through eight worlds with three levels each to retrieve the jewels stolen by Dr. Eggman/Robotnik. The game is part of the SEGA Forever line, which features classic games for mobile devices. These games stay true to the original gameplay while offering customizable touch controls and the ability to save progress.
